Kanha National Park is one of India’s primary tiger preserves but large tracts of its land are unsuited to tigers due to poor water distribution. Working in the Bhaisanghat and Supkhar Core Zones, the project involves creating a network of waterholes that will lead to an in increase in the population of prey species. The availability of water and suitable prey will encourage tigers into the area. Talking from the field in India, Chris commented, “It’s a hugely exciting project that is one of many small steps towards increasing available tiger habitat in India.“
